circus

our crazy busy weekend ended with a trip to the circus. I was a little nervous about Blakes attention span, but Julie went on Friday night and said it was awesome and he would be into it. However something is wrong with my child!!! He kept asking to go home??? he never wants to be home except the time we are watching the most awesome show with tigers and elephants and clowns etc . . .

We went a little early and went down the center where he was able to put on one of the customes and get his photo taken with one of the circus people, he did like that, but he was scared of the guy on stilts.

me and Ted loved the show, I think Teds favorite part was the motorcycles in the cage - that part literally freaked me out, I had to close my eyes.
I was already warned about all the expensive toys and told myself I would not be suckered in, but I bribed Blake to go potty. He really wanted a toy and I said if he went potty on the toilet he could have any toy he wanted and amazing how at first he didn't have to go at all, but then peed a river as soon as I said that - the little stinker should totally be out of diapers!!! so he picked out this sword. Look at the display behind him; they had one of those set up between every single section!!! and then walked around selling the stuff too. If any parent with a young child got out of there without spending a dime it would be a miracle.

Backyardigans party!

Here are pics from the backyardigans party today at my parents house. I had loads of fun cause I think the kids did. We played put the bowtie on pablo, the kids got backyardigans tatoos, and the weather was awesome where they could play in the pool and with the sprinkler.
Except now just going thru my pics I just realized I don't have that many of my own child. I have at ton of Kate and Abby. I'll chuck it up to the fact that they are girls and liked to be photographed either that or I'm a bad mom, but I refuse to believe that later - lol!

Baby Adam

On Monday me and Blake went to Decatur to meet baby Adam. Blake was so excited, or exciting as he always says - lol! I told him that Nathan got a baby brother and he said, 'wow - where did he come from?, not expecting that at age 3, I told him from Nathans mommy, and he was like, oh - I knew that. He LOVED holding him and kept going on about how small his hands and feet were, then said he was like a tootsie roll??? and sang him twinkle twinkle, he also kept giving him kisses on his forehead - it was soo cute, makes me want a baby around, I just don't want to have it or raise it.

The other cool thing was how well all 3 of them played together. They were so hyper we could not get a pic of all 3 of them together, which seems to be the goal everytime we get together and we have only been successfull twice and one of them was when they were all eating. The only we could get them all to stay still long enough to get them in the same shot was when they were behind the couch trapped! Except good little Addison, we would say okay all get together and she would sit and smile while Nathan and Blake just ran wild! It really is so cool to see our kids grow together.

Oh say can you see . . .

Saturday night Ted sang the National Anthem at the Pirates game. I tried to take a picture of him actually singing it, but the picture wouldn't take???? It was pretty cool and he did an awesome job! Blake was sooooo excited to hear him and the minute he walked in he was yelling 'Hi Daddy' - it was so cute. Then while Ted was singing his picture was on the big tv thing in the middle of the stadium and Blake was saying, 'thats my daddy' - he was so proud of him!
since I had my camera I took some random shots.

Blake had a ton of fun playing with Ted's friends kids, and eating all of their popcorn, I'm surprised he didn't get sick!

my new obsession

is the Twilight saga . . . I know I'm a little behind the times with this one. But I decided I wanted to watch the movie and everyone was like, you have to read the books first, so I did and I am completely hooked!!! I read the first in a week, which I guess is a long time compared to most people, but the book is 500 pages and I have a FT job and 3 year old. Then watched the movie twice and then read the 2nd book and I'm currently on book #3. Also, I'm not one to go ga-ga over actors, but I think I'm in love with the Robert P character that plays Edward - lol!! I"m soooo excited for the New Moon movie to come out and anything else with this Robert in it. (the worst part is he is 10 years younger than me - so I feel old!)
They have about a gizillioin fan sites soI may have to add some of their sites to my blog list, there are just too many to search thru.
so I'm not sure how long this obsession will last but until then I'm very busy reading . . . . . . .

more pics

These pics were also taken Sunday at botanical gardens. Ya know that Blake hates to have his picture taken so he never smiles. I told him if he let me take his photo I would let him fish - is that bad I have to bribe him like that??? - so he did this smiley photo and the one below he was making a funny face!

fishing

Ted bought this fishing pole a few weeks ago for Blake and Blake has either talking about it or carrying it with him since! Today we started the day heading to the farm park, only to find out they were closed so we decided to go to the zoo and at the last minute decided to walk around Botanical gardens instead (I just wanted to be outside enjoying the sun!)

I had no idea that Blake had his fishing pole in the car with us, but he wanted to bring it with him and then we found this little pond. It didn't have any fish, but he did not care and we hung out there for an hour while he would cast his pole out and reel it back in. He had the time of his life, and I took some awesome pics, so we were both happy campers!

our new pet

Meet Bob our new Beta fish that Aunt Terra bought Blake for his birthday. For the first few days his name was Blue Fish, but the other day he decided he liked the name Bob. Were not sure how long he will be around as Blake wants to feed him non-stop, touch him, and move his tank. He also wanted to take him to school/day care to show his friends and teacher.
Right now he lives in the kitchen and the first morning after we had him as soon as he woke up he asked me who was sleeping downstairs. I said, no one, and he said - the blue fish is!

Birthday Parties!

I love kids birthday parties! It's so fun to have all of the kiddos running around together, and I love buying all the decorations and goodies etc. Sometimes I wish I had more kids just to plan more parties - lol! This year I decided to have 2 different parties for Blake. His first year it was mainly family and last year it was mainly kids. I also try not to emphasize the gifts, and at the kiddo parties we don't do gifts (also too chaotic) - I know eventually that will change.

This year I decided to have 2 parties so the family party was Diego themed (my sister was nice enough to let me host it at her house - thanks Terra) I also decided I would make my own cake since we have so much Diego stuff (plus I saw it online, and know I could do it)

We got him a bike, which I was soooo excited about since he loves bikes. I bought it off craigslist months ago for like $15! and good thing cause after riding it for a little while he decided he liked his old tricycle better!

We also had my cousin Jesse & Jenny over with their kids, Abby and JD. Blake had such a good time with them, they are so cute and fun and we don't see them nearly enough :-(, but when we do the kids always have a great time.

The funnest thing in Florida was the pirate ship ride. It was so interactive for the kids. They give all the kids pirate hats, then they have them go in the back, gave them all water guns and there ran out and had a water gun figh with the adults. They told the kids pirate stories, had them go on a treasure hunt and then gave them the necklaces from the treasure box. They finished with doing the limbo and other dances. It was a lot of fun. and the guys liked it too cause it was free beer:-) `
