Field Trip

For Blake's daycare's summer field trip we went to the zoo - so we were able to use our membership, getting our moneys worth already! It's really fun for the kids cause a lot of parents come and we ride the school bus with them there. Blake talked about being able to ride the school bus non-stop the night before.
Here is a pic of some of his friends. I would like to add, that I dressed him in his cute orange shorts with one of his gymbo shirts that has orange stripes and a tractor on it, only to remember when we got to school that they have all the kids where the little lambs shirts - so it's easy to see the kids, and of course his class got the red ones which totally clashed with the orange shorts!!! I seriosly considered going home and getting other shorts, but I obviously didn't.
This pic is kind of hard to see the lion with the reflection of the glass, but the lion was right at the window, it was pretty cool.

This is Blake's teacher, Miss Colleen - whom he LOVES and talks about all the time. Sometimes he calls her his best friend, and he has even called her his girlfriend and the other half of the time he calls me Miss Colleen, but I'm just glad that he has a great relationship with her and that he is learning to respect and learn from others besides me.

Airplanes

On Saturday we went to to watch the airshow. We were able to see it from where all the planes took off - I guess that's called the runway - lol! One of Ted's friends has a plane that they keep in the area of the airport where we were able to hang out in during the show.

Then Blake got to hang out on a real airplane too. He had a lot of fun cause all the guys there had lots of boys, so I think there was a total of 9 little boys there. Did I mention I was the only female there! All the other wives stayed home!!! but it was a perfect day outside so I didn't mind hangin with all of the guys.

fireworks

This is from a week ago, but it was a slow week with photo taking and a busy week around the house.

Surprisingly, Blake had never been to fireworks until this year. He would always go to bed so early and wake up so early we never wanted to mess with it. since he finally sleeps in and can stay up late we went this year, and also Ted's sister and Blake's cousin, Jamie came down. I think his favorite thing about them was the glow sticks. Those kept him entertained during our very long wait . . . When they did the tester one, he got scared and told me that a cloud bursted! Then he just stared at them in amazement and when it was done Ted asked him what he thought and he said' those fireworks freaked me out!' But I think he meant it in a good way cause he liked it.

because I do

our little chatterbox, Blake, has started with the never ending series of questions about anything and everything. Here me and Ted are trying to come up with answers for all of his questions, but then whenever we ask him something similiar his answer is so simple: because I do!
It usually starts with, what are you doing, and then lots of why's, etc. For example, Blake says to me, 'mommy what are you doing'? me 'the dishes', B- 'why', m - 'because they are dirty', b- 'why are the dirty', m- because we ate on them, b- 'why did we eat on them', m- 'because we were hungry', b- 'why were we hungry' then I'm stumped . . . .
so it took me a while, but I know have learned with the first why, I just simply say ' because I do'!

my stay-cation

so I took a few days off work and stayed home - kind of. My first day off I took Blake to Forrest Park Nature Center for a tiny tots trail led by one of the workers there. He really liked it and called it the park with no slides -lol! However, the rest of the day he was out of control and ended up falling asleep at 5pm and slept all night but woke up at 4:30 am!!!
the next day we just hung out and went to a crafty play-date.
Then on Friday, we all went to the zoo to see the new Africa exhibit. It was really cool so we decided to get a membership so we will be spending lots of time there.

we also ran into Dawn, Pat and Eva there. how cute are Blake and Eva wondering around!

fishin

Ted has recently been taking Blake fishing. Blake is REALLY into it. They used to just go to the lakes by the condo, but lately have started going to Glen Oak. I went with them earlier in the week. Ted even bought Blake his own fishing hat which is only to be worn when he is fishing. how adorable is he in his get-up!
